Ggudi

“auyi. My name’s Ggudi. I am ten years old, and I live in the South Gardens, and I like astronomy, and... It’s nice to meet you.” Ggudi sighed sharply and tried again, this time with a smile. “It’s nice to meet you!”

After discovering a strange artifact at his martial arts school, ten-year-old Ggudi becomes the unintended center of a secret conflict in his home nation of Wistania. The Bwolotil people want to kidnap him, the Taliv people want to cover up their unjust treatment of his parents, and the Nati, Ggudi's own people group, want to force him to become a soldier in an inevitable war. Ggudi's close friends and family are doing everything they can to help and protect him, but Ggudi is afraid that it's not enough. He might have to take matters into his own hands: hands which, after having touched the artifact, are glowing with a mystic power older than the Universe.

Ggudi cannot tell anyone that he lives in the South Gardens or that he’s obsessed with the stars or that he hates wearing shoes or that he practices conversations in the mirror. Ggudi especially cannot tell anyone, no matter who, under any circumstances, for whatever reason, at any place or time, that he’s seen an ajma.

This is his first year as a student of Yabba martial arts. He’s supposed to make friends and learn new skills, but instead, he stumbles on an ancient power that puts him in the middle of a brutal conflict he never knew existed. Such dangerous abilities shouldn’t belong to an “other-minded” ten-year-old boy. His cracking-apart family can’t know about it, his sketchy Yabba school can’t know about it, and the Bwolotil who will stop at nothing to capture him also can’t know about it.

Page Allen’s second novel in the Zaun Ajma series is a fantasy coming-of-age story with a large cast of intriguing characters, a tight and complex plot, and a massive colorful world. Gaze at the stars with Ggudi for free and learn what makes Wistania the most mystifying place in the universe.

Ggudi and the Second Strike is the second installment of a 21-book series. Reading the previous novel, Lingon and the First Survivor is recommended, but not necessary. The events of Second Strike occur six years before First Survivor and involve completely different characters. This story only introduces Ggudi and his story. There are characters, events, and lore in this novel that are not fully explained, but they will likely be explored in a future installment.
